Rideau Park is bordered by the Elbow River to the west, south and north, and to the east by 4th Street. Essentially the community exists within a C-shape of the Elbow River, which is extremely rare for any community in Calgary. Home prices go as high as $1M and even beyond this threshold. In 2011 the population of Rideau Park was 627 and the number of homes in the area totaled 343.

Transit
Rideau Park is served by bus route 419. North along 8th Avenue runs the CTrain.

Parks & Recreation
With three-fourths of the community located directly on the Elbow River it's not hard to find something to do regrading outdoor recreation. Furthermore, the lower portion of the community contains a part of Stanley Park, which wraps around the river. This is a great park and it includes a lot for Rideau Park residents, such as a park within a park -- Princess Obolensky -- lawn bowling, an outdoor swimming and wading pool, fishing/canoe/raft access, water fountains, a toboggan hill, picnic areas, BBQ stands, pathways, playground areas, tennis courts and a sports field. The community also contains the small Elbow Island Park, just across a narrow fork in the river; and, despite the name of the community, there is no Rideau Park located within it.
