The community of Ramsay is bordered by the Elbow River to the west, 11 Street to the east and 24 Avenue to the south, while it has no northern side, simply coming to a point just before 9 Avenue SE.

Ramsay has quite the history, being first developed by Wesley Fletcher Orr in the 1880s. Most of the residences in Ramsay are single-family homes, priced approximately between $450,000 and $850,000. The population of Ramsay was, in 2012, 2,100 persons.

Transit
Bus route 17 runs through Ramsay, as well as Renfrew. It has one stop in Ramsay, at the intersection of MacDonald Avenue SE and Bellevue Avenue SE. Also nearby is the Erlton/Stampede CTrain station through which trains 10 and 17 travel.

Parks & Recreation
The entire western edge of Ramsay sits on the Elbow River, encompassing all of Riverfront Park. Three other small areas of green space are placed throughout the community.

The Calgary Stampede is located just across the Elbow River from Ramsay, and just north of this location is the Deer Valley Shopping Center. Residents can drive a short distance west down 9 Ave SW to find the CORE Shopping Centre.
