First developed in 1948, the community of Parkdale has since transitioned from its post-war roots into an inner-city neighborhood prized for its proximity to downtown Calgary as well as the natural beauty of the Bow River's north bank. The community of Point McKay borders Parkdale to the west and West Hillhurst borders it to the east.
