Started in 1957, the community of Westgate is bordered by Bow Trail SW to the north, Sarcee Trail SW to the west, 17 Ave SW to the south and 37 St SW to the east. In 2012 the population was 3,172; 1,334 condos, townhomes and mostly single-family homes housed these residents. Home prices range from approximately $500,000 to $900,000.

Transit
Bus route 412 serves Westgate with one stop at 49 Street SW and Bow Trail SW. A CTrain line also runs nearly parallel to this route. The nearest station is Westbrook.

Parks & Recreation
A few small green spaces are spread throughout the Westgate community, with the largest one in the center. South is the Optimist Athletic Park for those interested in exercise and north are the banks of the Bow River, perfect for a relaxing walk.

East is the Westbrook Mall, complete with all the stores residents could want to satisfy their needs. Nearby restaurants include Brothers Pizza, Panago Pizza, Creteus, Chili Club Thai House Restaurant and fast-food options like Subway, McDonalds and Wendy's.
