Shaganappi - SW Calgary Real Estate


Shaganappi is a beautiful community in southwest Calgary which has one of the largest green spaces of any neighborhood in the city, namely the Shaganappi Golf Course. The boundaries of Shaganappi include Spruce Drive to the west, 24th Street to the east, 17th Avenue to the south and the Bow River to the north.

The community was established in 1949 and had a population by 2012 of 1,553. Homes in the area are priced in the upper ranges of the southwest quadrant of the city, between $700,000 and $2M approximately.

Transit
West LRT routes 93 and 412 serve the Shaganappi community.

Parks & Recreation
The Shaganappi Golf Course is certainly the biggest draw for the community as far as outdoor recreation, located just north of Bow Trail. As previously mentioned it is quite the large golf course. The skill level is classified as intermediate, and the course includes a club house, licensed snack bar, club rentals, power or pull cart rentals, lessons, and a driving range as well.

Of course, not everyone is interested in golfing, in which case the Shaganappi Park provides a small but adequate green space for the community; this is also where the Shaganappi Community Association building is located. Residents can enjoy tennis here as well.
