The community is extremely small for Calgary, with only 161 homes located within its borders: Macleod Trail to the east, the Elbow River to the west and north, and Mission Road SW to the south. From 2011 to 2012 the population of Roxboro decreased from 441 to 421. Three cemeteries (Jewish Cemetery, St. Mary's Cemetery, Chinese Cemetery) are located within the community of Roxboro and account for most of its green space. Across Macleod Trail more cemeteries exist. However, there are some wonderful parks only blocks away to the west, along the Elbow River: Elbow Island Park, Wood's Park (across the river), and the Elbow River Pathway along which is the Southern Alberta Pioneers Building.

A large collection of shops, eateries and pubs is located to the north -- along and above 17th Avenue SE -- in addition to the Calgary Stampede. What are some of the vendors? The Hype Fight Store, Madame Betty, Leo Boutique, Purr, Roots, O'Connor's, Shoppers Drug Mart, The Gallery, Menace Clothing, Aritzia, the CORE Shopping Centre and Gios Collections For Men.
