The boundaries of Scarboro span from Scarboro Avenue SW to the east, 17th Avenue SW to the south, 24th Street SW to the west and Bow Trail SW / Scarboro Avenue SW to the north. Home prices in this community have a large range, from approximately $600,000 to approximately $1,200,000 and beyond. Only 343 homes made up the community in 2012.

Scarboro is a bit more complex than other Calgary communities in that it is made up of two parts: Upper Scarboro and Scarboro proper. The latter is located to the east of Crowchild Trail SW and the former is located to the west. Scarboro proper is also known as Sunalta West because Sunalta is the neighboring community to the east. Between these two parts the community as a whole had a population of 880 in 2012.

Transit
Bus route 414 runs through the neighboring community to the south, Bankview.

Parks & Recreation
Two parks border the community of Scarboro -- Shagnappi Park and Royal Sunalta Park. The former features an off-leash area for dogs as well as a tennis court, while the latter consists wholly of tennis courts -- nine to be exact.

When it comes to shopping, residents must take a short drive down 17th Avenue SW to the east or west to reach areas like the Westbrook Shopping Centre and the CORE Shopping Centre. Located around these shopping centres are multitudes of boutiques, eateries, pubs and service providers.
