Lakeview - SW Calgary Real Estate


Lake view is the less expensive and larger portion of a development referred to as Lakeview Village, the dividing point being Crowchild Trail SW. Lakeview does not include the Earl Grey Golf Course, which makes sense because golf courses usually denote a community, or portion of a community with a higher level of luxury. Many people often confuse the two portions of this development.

Lakeview was built in 1962 (two years after the more luxurious portion to the east). This community however is still a very amenity-rich community, and luxurious in its own right, including for example the trails along the Glenmore Reservoir, as well as the Calgary Canoe Club and Calgary Rowing club.

The community is bordered by Glenmore Trail SW to the north, Crowchild Trail SW to the east, the North Glenmore Park to the south and 37th Street SW to the west. 5,468 people live in the community as of 2012, and the 2,338 homes range from $600,000 to $800,000 in price approximately.

Transit
Lakeview is served by bus route 18, which winds around the entire community but does not run this portion of the route after 7PM. Stops are located at 54th Avenue and Crowchild Trail, as well as 63rd Avenue and Crowchild Trail.

Parks & Recreation
The community borders the North Glenmore Park which is set on the Glenmore Reservoir. Particularly for water activities residents couldn't ask for more. Also, considering the proximity to the reservoir, the home prices in Lakeview are very reasonable. On the south and western sides of this body of water prices easily run into the multiple millions of dollars. The community is, however, light on available shopping in the area, with no substantial centres within a short driving distance.
