Downtown West End - SW Calgary Real Estate


The Downtown West End is bordered by 14th Street W to the west, the CPR tracks to the south, 9th Street W to the east, and Bow River to the north. Because of its high population density, single-family homes are almost extinct in the community, with 25 remaining. Condo and town home prices range from $400,000 to $2,500,000 approximately; 1,628 dwellings exist within the community. In 2012 the population of the Downtown West End was 2,322.

Transit
This community is served by the West LRT.

Parks & Recreation
Located within the community boundaries is the Shaw Millennium Park. The park is the largest outdoor skatepark in North America which is free to use. Features include a washroom, basketball courts, laser lights, a clock tower, waterfall, landmark building as well as a stage and amphitheatre. It was built in 2000 and designed as an activity park for families. With over 35,000 visitors per year residents of the Downtown West End are certainly lucky to have it in their backyard. A variety of shops surround the community as well, such as the Core Shopping Center a short walk east.
