Chaparral - SE Calgary Real Estate


Established in 1995 Chaparral is an affluent neighborhood in southeast Calgary with a median income of nearly $80,000. In its center is the Chaparral Lake which is man-made and adjoins Chaparral Lake Park, as well as Chapa Park. It is bordered to the west by Macleod Trail SE, to the north by Stoney Trail SE, to the east by Chaparral Ridge CL. MasterBuilt community and to the south by 194 Ave SE.

Chaparral was built by Genstar, which constructed many other popular communities throughout Calgary like Walden. In 2011 the population was 11,151 and the community contained 3,629 residences. Prices of homes range from approximately $450,000 to $1,600,000.

Transit
Bus route 78 serves the Chaparral community. The nearest station is Somerset-Bridlewood, and the 78 line stops on the east and west sides of Chaparral. Below are the busses that run route 78.

Parks & Recreation
Chaparral is great when it comes to green spaces -- with small areas spread throughout the community -- and when residents are looking for a full-fledged park, it delivers as well. The hallmark park, next to Chaparral Lake, is Chaparral Lake Park. This park and lake are truly what separates the community from other suburban neighborhoods in Calgary, only a select few of which have lakes, man-made or otherwise.

Shawnessy Village Shopping Center is located a short drive north on Macleod Trail SE. It's easily the largest shopping hub near the community of Chaparral and contains everything residents could want or need.
