Developed largely in the 1950s, Britannia is bordered on its western side by the Elbow River, to the east by Elbow Dr SW to the south by 50 Avenue SW and to the north by the Elbow River as well. Riverdale park is located within its boundaries and stretches through the center of the community.

Home prices range from $800,000 to $6,000,000, making Britannia some of the most expensive real estate in all of Calgary -- no matter the quadrant. In 2012 the population was only 803, so you know the area is small and quaint, and there are only a handful of listings at any given time. The best lots in this area overlook the park and the river, and the views are stunning even in the dead of winter.

Transit
Bus route 3 runs up Elbow Drive with a few stops near Britannia, though along this area the bus system does not dip into any neighborhood because the use is so low due to the affluence. The nearest terminal is Heritage.
