Until 1991 Pump Hill was joined with the Palliser community next door. The population of the community was, in 2012, 1,614 persons; this number is declining year over year, indicating a lack of popularity in the neighborhood. Homes in Pump Hill are, however, substantially more expensive than those in Palliser, with prices ranging from $750,000 to $9,000,000 approximately. The boundaries of the community are as follows: 90th Avenue SW to the north, 14th Street SW to the east, Southland Drive SW to the south and 19th Street SW to the west.

Pump Hill is served by bus routes 16 and 84.

Parks & Recreation
The Tom Brook Athletic Park is located in the companion community to Pump Hill, Palliser. Its features include parking, a picnic area, a softball diamond and lighted regulation soccer field. Athletic parks like this in Calgary offer much more than the general park with only a softball field or in some cases multiple softball fields and an open green space. The Glenmore Landing Shopping Centre, located nearby, is the largest source of shopping in the area.
