The boundaries of Maple Ridge are Southland Drive to the north, Anderson Road to the south, Deerfoot Trail to the east and Acadia Drive to the west. This community is geared more towards those interested in retirement rather than starting a family, as a golf course is clearly its main focus.

Home prices range from $500,000 to $800,000. In Maple Ridge 811 homes exist, making it one of the smaller developed communities in Calgary. In 2012 the population was 1,910 which was a decrease of 3.4% over the previous year; this is additional evidence that this community is geared towards retirement. Popular communities in Calgary which are also very family-oriented grow each year, at least by a small percentage.

However, despite the focus on the golf course, Acadia Park is still placed inside the community boundaries on its west side.
