Mahogany - SE Calgary Real Estate


Mahogany is a new community in Calgary, compared relatively to many others. Approved for development only in 2007, by 2012 it had a population of 1,266. Only 572 dwellings are located in the community, but in 2011 that number was 365. The population count was much lower then too, at 788. Like other new communities in Calgary, growth starts slow then gains momentum.

Mahogany is bordered by 22 X to the north, Seton Boulevard to the south, 88 Street to the east and 52 Street to the west. Homes in the area sell for between approximately $300,000 and $1,500,000.

Transit
Mahogany does not have a dedicated bus route as of yet, and does not have a CTrain line nearby. Construction like this takes time and a lengthy approval process; residents in new communities need their own transportation.

Parks & Recreation
Mahogany has three large lakes and two small lakes at its center, in addition to a smattering of small lakes in its southeast corner. In fact, the community even has a beach, Mahogany West Beach. This is truly a type of feature that is not offered with communities built in Calgary before the 2000s.
