Erlton - SW Calgary Real Estate


Erlton easily stands out amongst Calgary communities due to its location and interesting shape. It's western boundary is largely formed by the Elbow River, and partially by Erlton Street SW. It contains two cemeteries -- Union and St. Mary's -- and even borders a third, Burnsland.

The population of Erlton in 2011 was 1,231. The community is easily one of the smallest in Calgary, at least by number of residences, with 741, mostly comprised of single-family homes. Prices for these homes are approximately in the 500s.

Transit
The CTrain services the community of Erlton at the Erlton/Stampede stop on the South Line, or route 201.

Parks & Recreation
Erlton contains Talisman Centre, a non-profit organization which offers fitness-related facilities to members of the community. Reader Rock garden isn't a park per se, but it's arguably much more interesting. It's includes the Reader house, which was recently restored, and inside of it is the Reader's Garden Cafe. The garden was the pet project of the cemetery superintendent from 1912 to 1943. North of Erlton is a hub of shopping. The Calgary Stampede, an annual rodeo, is held nearby as well.
