A 'Green' REALTOR® ?

A 'Green' REALTOR® ?

Calgary REALTOR® Cliff Stevenson explains that there might be varying degrees of 'being Green', but that it is a growing focus and initiative in real estate. If you have any questions or opinions on this subject, please feel free to leave comments or email Cliff at cliff@cliffstevenson.com

Cliff Stevenson here in Calgary, Alberta.

Just coming back from the first day of a two-day ‘Green’ Designation Course at the Calgary Real Estate Board.

I was thinking throughout the day that it’s going to be a little bit odd, pulling up in front of a buyer one day and having them question why I’m driving a 5.7 liter V8 SUV with a ‘Green’ designation. But there was a section in the course that talked about levels of ‘greenness’ in it and I think it was referring more specifically to whether a house was less ‘green’ than something that has been certified by a regulating body. And I sort of applied that to what I’m doing here as well.

Sure, I drive a large SUV, probably not the best for my carbon footprint but I am trying to take my business in a paperless direction. I am very concerned with how I’m using my resources and becoming more concerned as each day passes and looking for efficiencies that will reduce my impact on the environment. So, while I may not be driving the most ‘green’ vehicle in the world, I am trying to apply this change and focus for a lot of people right now, especially in real estate to my business.

Any comments or questions, I’d love to hear from you. You can email me at cliff@cliffstevenson.com.

Thanks and have a great day
